How many times can you take Plan B in a week?

Plan B is NOT intended to be a form of birth control. Plan B is 85% effective, when taken within 3-5 days of unprotected sex.

Plan B 'delays' ovulation and by taking Plan B too often, you WILL INCREASE your chances of getting pregnant. It's difficult to say "when" that can happen, but it can happen. Our providers opinion is that taking Plan B more than 2-3 times a month could put you at a higher risk of unintended pregnancy.

There are many methods available that are more reliable than Plan B. If you're concerned about cost, we have programs that will help with that too. Please stop by and visit with our counselors about what you can do to reduce your risk of unplanned pregnancy. We're here to help!

I took the Plan B on Thursday. but then on Saturday I had sex again and the condom broke....Should I take another one or am I still safe?
YES...you definitely want to take another Plan B! The Plan B you took on Thursday only covered the "past" 5 days.

Plan B is 85% effective, a more reliable way to prevent unintended pregnancy would be to start a birth control method and we can help! There are programs available that will help with the cost of birth control as well. We're open Monday - Friday from 8:00-5:30 and have a Teen Walk In Clinic every Wednesday from 2:00-5:00.
How long does the Plan B stay effective?

Plan B does not 'stay' effective. Plan B is intended to reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy, after unprotected sex, for the PAST five (5) days. If you had unprotected sex after taking Plan B, you should take another dose.

We can help you with a more reliable form of birth control. If you're interested, stop by or call for information on how you can qualify to have these costs covered and how to get started. we're here to help!

How much does Plan B cost???

At Family Planning, the charge for Plan B is $30. However, there are programs that will help women with the cost of Plan B. You may also qualify for our sliding fee scale, which means your cost is based on your ability to pay.

To see if you qualify, bring a photo ID and your most recent pay stubs and we'll do the rest!

Can I get a STD if it goes halfway in?

YES! Any time there is gential (skin-to-skin) contact there is a risk of infection. Condoms are recommended anytime you have genital contact and/or intercourse.

Family Planning offers STD/HIV testing. Our services are ALWAYS confidential and knowing your status will give you peace of mind. We are open Monday-Friday 8:00-5:30 and have a Teen Walk In Clinic every Wednesday from 2:00-5:00.

How can I fine out if I can carry girls is there test?
We're not quite sure what your question is. However, if it is "how can you find out if you are carrying a girl" then you can often find out during your ultrasounds when you visit your doctor. If that's not quite what the question is, please send it again. Thanks! Sorry we couldn't help!
Can you get pregnant if the man only breaks half way in your virginty with precum?
"Precum" can contain sperm, so yes. Anytime you have unprotected sex, regardless of how far a man enters the vagina, sperm can be released and you can get pregnant. If you are sexually active or thinking about becoming sexually active, we can help you protect yourself from unintended pregnancy and STD/HIV infections. We have programs that cover the cost of the exam and your birth control method. All service provided at Family Planning are strictly confidential. You can also see your family doctor.

I had unprotected sex, then took the Plan B pill. It caused me to bleed. Could I still be pregnant, if i didnt get my period the next month?

Plan B can cause irregular bleeding or could cause you not to have a period. Plan B is 89% effective if taken within 72 hours of having unprotected sex. The effectiveness is 85% if taken between days 4-5. There is always a chance you can be pregnant...even if you take Plan B. You can come in at anytime for a pregnancy test to be sure. If you have concerns, please call or come in and talk to one of our counselors or see your family doctor. You can get more information about Plan B from their website at www.planbonestep.com

If you take a Plan B pill and than still have unprotected sex and he cums inside you can you still get pregnant? What if your period has been on and off for a week now?

You can get pregnant anytime you engage in unprotected sex, even if you take Plan B. Plan B is intended to delay ovulation for up to 5 days. Irregular bleeding after taking Plan B is not uncommon. However, there are other things that can cause irregular bleeding such as infection and of course, pregnancy. If you are concerned that you may be pregnant or your symptoms continue, we would suggest that you be seen by a healthcare provider. Our office is open Monday-Friday from 8:00-5:30. You can get more information about Plan B at www.planbonestep.com

When you lose your virginity, is it possible to lose it when you get 'fingered'? I'm asking because I bled and they say that when you get your 'cherry' popped, that's what happens.

You have not lost your virginity, until you have had sexual intercourse. The hymen ('cherry') can be torn ('popped') in several different ways that don't have anything to do with intercourse. If the hymen does tear durning sexual intercourse or other physical activity, it can bleed, but that doesn't always happen. If you still have questions, here's a website that might help! You can also come in and visit with one of our providers if you have concerns. www.ourbodiesourblog.org/blog/2008/12/the-hymen-breaking-the-myths

In every case if the sexual activity is really hurting, it should be stopped. When one partner proceeds even though the other said stop, it can be considered date rape.
